There are two public boat launches; 1 is 1/2 mile from B&B and affords great canoe/kayak routes/scenery from the cove to the river to the sound

We are just 1 mile to beaches, lighthouses, Long Island Sound & Connecticut River Cruises, an historic walking park, 9 hole waterfront golf course, mini golf,  and waterfront dining.  Beach passes, maps, and advice provided!  From the B&B take a scenic stroll along the water past the historic homes and scenic views of North and South Cove, Saybrook Point, and Fenwick.  Watch the sun set over the ocean, or take a walk at Fort Saybrook Monument Park or out to one of Old Saybook's lighthouses.
Beautiful area for walking, bicycling, canoeing or kayaking, antiqueing, and scenic drives along the CT River and Long Island Sound.
