Chocolate Marshmallow Cookies

2 Cups Flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 Cup cocoa
1/2 Cup shortening
1/Cup sugar
1 Egg
1/2 Cup buttermilk or 1/2 tsp. vinegar to 1/2 Cup milk
1 tsp. Vanilla
Marshmallows-cut in half
Walnut halves
Sift flour. Measure and sift again with baking soda, salt and cocoa. Cream
shortening. Add sugar and blend. Add egg and beat well. Add flour mixture and
liquid. Mix well. Drop on greased sheet 2" apart. Bake at 350 for 8
minutes. Remove from oven and top with half marshmallow, cut side down. Return
to oven and bake 2 minutes until marshmallows brown lightly. Cool. Frost with
coca frosting.
COCOA FROSTING: Sift 2 cups confectioners' sugar, t Tablespoons cocoa, and
dash salt. Add 3 Tablespoons melted butter, 4 Tablespoons milk and 1 tsp.
vanilla. Top with walnut half.
