Figs in Orange Sauce à la Waterloo

75 g sugar
5 Tsp. water
3 dl orange juice
1 tsp. cornstarch
1 Tsp. Cointreau
8 figs
Cook 75 g sugar 5 Tablespoons water
in chrome iron pan until caramelized.
Mix 3 dl orange juice (about 3 small glasses) with it, cook until sugar is
dissolved
Mix 1 teaspoon cornstarch with 1 Tablespoon Cointreau (or orange liquor),
transfer to mix, cook 2 minutes stirring.
Add 8 figs (washed and halved) to sauce, cook shortly, let stand about 2-3 hours.
Serving:
Serve with vanilla ice cream.
